Project presentation 2012-2014 :

This partnership aims at opening our pupils, teachers and staff towards European citizenship (discovering different cultures, traditions and languages) and at developing professional skills (learning new techniques, working with ICT equipment, developing a European professional network) through a common food product: fish. The 4 vocational partner schools (Vila Real de Santo Antonio/Portugal, Trebon/Czech Republic, Skjervoy/Norway, Guérande/France) are specialised in fish farming and/or catering (See more information on the attached document : https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B_wLalmexFmgbWtyVEYtMXZDQ2s.

These fields are experiencing a strong international expansion, that’s why it’s interesting for young people trained in these areas to share their knowledge with European partners and thus to track best practise more closely. Moreover, this partnership will contribute to the development of a pool of well-qualified, open-minded and internationally experienced students.
The 4 schools  will create a DVD "from water to plate" in English and a multilingual book, including technical product data sheets for each selected fish (cod:Portugal, carp:Czech Republic, salmon:Norway, turbot:France) and recipes illustrated by videos. They will develop the DVD through both internal meetings and common mobility activities aiming at bringing together the 4 partners according to the scheduled work programme; this product will also be used as an educational tool.
3 out of the 4 above-mentioned partners jointly carried out a Comenius project in 2009 (AQUAESUS)dealing with teaching sustainable development in fish farming. This new project adds value in catering.
The 4th partner (Portugal) brings a new dimension: indeed, it has deeply marked traditions with fish and, despite being located in the far south of Europe, it has significant links with Norway (in the north of Europe) as far as codfish is concerned.
